At Redditch Baptist Church, you will find a group of people who meet together to worship God, read the bible, help each other grow as followers of Jesus, and try to tell others about Him.
Our worship is centred around Jesus, who is God in human shoes. He died on the cross to pay for all our sins (things we shouldn’t have done but did anyway), and he rose from the dead in triumphant victory over sin and death and evil. Through faith in Jesus we become children of God and citizens of his eternal Kingdom.
Jesus sent the church – the sum total of all his followers – into the world as his witnesses, to invite everyone to submit to Jesus as Lord and Saviour before he comes back as King and Judge of all creation.
When someone decides to follow Jesus, we invite them to be baptised as a sign of this commitment. We don’t baptise infants.
We practise “open communion”: all who confess Jesus as Lord and believe that he died for their sins are welcome to participate, regardless of baptism status or church background.
As a member church of the Baptist Union of Great Britain, we have five core values that are shared with every Baptist church. We are:
1) A Prophetic Community - we follow Jesus' example in speaking out against injustice, hypocrisy, and evil in the world.
2) A Welcoming Community - we follow Jesus' example that all are welcome, regardless of age, ability, sexual orientation, gender, language, race, class or culture. You are welcome here!
3) A Sacrificial Community - we follow Jesus' example in the necessity of sacrificial giving; we try to show the generous, life-giving nature of God.
4) A Missionary Community - we follow Jesus' example and instruction to show God's healing, love and forgiveness to the world.
5) A Worshipping Community - we follow Jesus' example in engaging with worship, teaching and prayer, exploring what it means to live together as God's people.
If you'd like to drop in and get to know us better, we look forward to meeting you!
